It's unlikely that you'll ever find yourself in a life-or-death jam. But bad things can happen. So what to do? here are some items you may not have given a thought, but which could be useful and may even save your life:

1. Survive that snake bite.

If you are bitten by a snake, get away from it immediately and then limit your movement as this prevents the spread of venom. Remember as much as you can about the snake so the hospital can administer the correct anti-venom. Also never tie that part with some clothes or rope it might get worse so it's better to apply soap where it's been bite and wash it and go to the hospital.

2. Leave the object in the wound

4. If someone has a concussion, elevate their head so that fluid doesn't build up in their brain.

5. In a survival situation breathe through your nose, not your mouth.

Breathing out of your mouth expends more energy, and you'll lose moisture faster.

6. If you know you're going to be in a crowded space, take note of the exits.

7. Coffee Can Predict Weather

Image result for Coffee Can Predict Weather gif If you ever need to know the forecast but don’t have an app or a smart phone. Let’s say you live in a cave and you want to know what’s going to the conditions outside, grab yourself a cup of coffee and pour into a cup. When you do so, watch the bubbles if you see that the bubbles are quickly moving to the edges, then it’s a good sign that there are clear skies ahead. But if they move slowly to the edge then the conditions will the cloudy but it will clear up in just a bit. If the bubbles are stuck in the center, you can expect rain today. This relates to the pressure the atmosphere that means higher pressures are mostly due to clear skies. A concave reaction will occur in the Coffee which makes the bubbles go to the edge low atmospheric pressures have characteristics of rainy weather. So in creating convex that pulled the bubbles till they stay in the center.

8. Your Pant Is A floating device

Related image Use your pants as a floating device. Every year, unfortunately, thousands of people die from drowning and a fourth of those who drown are swimmers. So even if you think you’re a strong swimmer, pay attention to this. Let’s say somehow you end up in the water unexpectedly and struggling to stay afloat. Well, you happen to be wearing pants as these things will save you and all you got to do is to take your pants off. Tie the ends together then fill the pants with air. Put them half into water and hold high to the waistband, but make sure you keep the pants wet or they can displace.

9. If Your Plane Lands On Water, Don't Inflate Your Life Jacket In The Cabin

Put it on but keep it deflated until outside of the aircraft. Swim to an exit and then inflate for aided buoyancy.

10. Don't Eat Snow For Hydration

Image result for Eating Snow gif A tip many have picked up from survival TV shows and the like is that, should you run out of water, you can eat snow to stay hydrated but this is probably not the best idea as the body uses up an awful lot of energy converting one form of matter to another. As such, eating snow would provide relatively little hydration for the trade-off of losing a large amount of body heat. So, unless in dire need of hydration, probably best to not eat the snow and try and stay warm.
